In accordance with the decision by the NEC yesterday, our all members meeting on Friday July 15th has been cancelled, as has our planned new members social on Friday July 22nd.
The NEC decided last night that all normal CLP and local branch party meetings will be suspended while the leadership contest is underway. This follows heightened worries about the level of animosity apparent at CLP meetings. Please see below our request for clarification from South East Regional Office
“All CLP meetings should be cancelled until after the Leadership election. The only exception to this rule is for meetings where the CLP is making a Leadership Nomination – when nominations open next week – or for meetings to discuss resolutions to National Conference. There will be no exceptions to this rule.
All CLP Secretaries will be getting full information about this ruling, plus all the information they’ll need for the Leadership Election. This should be being sent out later today.
All Members should be getting an email tomorrow with all the information they need about voting.”
