Anneliese Dodds has been selected as Labour’s top MEP candidate for the South East.

Anneliese lives here in Oxford (in Rose Hill) and works as a Senior Lecturer in higher education. She also chairs a debt and welfare advice centre in the City, and has just had her first child, Freddie.

Anneliese will fight to preserve and increase investment from the EU in local research facilities and other infrastructure, and to protect jobs which rely on European markets like those at Oxford’s BMW plant.

Anneliese says: “I don’t want British people to be second-class citizens in Europe. But that’s what would happen if the Coalition government goes ahead with its plan to renegotiate Britain’s relationship with the EU, and throws away important environmental protections and employment rights for British people”.
