Ed Turner has lived in Oxford since 1996 - although he remains a fan of Woking FC, Oxford is now his hometown: he lives in the heart of Rose Hill estate, overlooking the Oval.

Ed has represented Rose Hill and Iffley on the City Council since 2002, and is proud of much that has been achieved by local people, councilors and everyone involved in our community, such as great new homes to replace those that were structurally unsound, seeing continued funding for the wonderful local advice centre, and new floodlights at the recreation ground and for the street sports area. Ed is now campaigning for major improvements to local roads, wants to see parking at Rose Hill parade made safer and more convenient, and hopes to see a boost for youth activity in the area.

Ed's favourite memory, amongst many, is probably helping take a group of young people from Rose Hill to Bonn to play football and meet Germans their own age.

In his day job, Ed is a Lecturer at Aston University in central Birmingham. Ed referees football (in the Hellenic League, as well as being an assistant referee on the Southern and Isthmian leagues), enjoys going to the pub, and travelling in his spare time.  Ed is Deputy Leader of Oxford City Council, responsible for Finance, Strategic Planning and Corporate Assets.  Ed's biggest wish in this role is to contribute to seeing more homes, especially more affordable homes, built in Oxford, and to see the economy prosper in such a way that local people - especially young people from places like Rose Hill - have real opportunities to stay and thrive in the city they grew up in.
