Gill Sanders has lived in Oxford for 35 years with her husband John. Gill has been an Oxford City Councillor for 20 years. During this time she has held the office of Lord Mayor, Deputy Lord Mayor and Sheriff. 

Amongst the many posts of responsibility that she has held on the Council are those of Deputy Leader and Chair of the Highways and Traffic Committee at the time when the Oxford Transport Strategy was being proposed.  During this time she worked closely with County Councillors and officers to ensure the best results for the pedestrianisation of Oxford city centre.

Gill is also a Parish Councillor for Littlemore and works closely with her fellow parish councillors to improve the environment and facilities in Littlemore particularly for children and young people.

Gill does regular doorstep surgeries in the ward to ensure that she remains in touch with all her constituents.

Gill enjoys travelling and experiencing different cultures, reading and watching cookery programmes.
