Local Organiser

Location: Oxford Labour office in Cowley, Oxford

Salary: Pro-rata to £23,856 for 4 - 5 days per week

Job Details: Oxford & District Labour Party is looking for a local organiser, working from our well-equipped campaign centre in Cowley. We have a strong and energetic local party, looking to make gains in local elections in 2018 and 2019. The post will initially run until June 2018 with the possibility of extension. The post will require some evening and weekend work in order to lead campaigning sessions.

Key responsibilities:

  • Working with MP, councillors, candidates, constituency officers, members and supporters to build support and win elections

  • Organising fund-raising and managing campaign budget and expenditure

  • Production and distribution of mailings and newsletters

  • Recruitment and management of volunteers

  • Organising all aspects of our election campaigns

  • Managing Oxford Labour's web and social media presence

Essential skills and experience

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to successfully lead teams and motivate volunteers

  • IT skills, including ability to use/learn desktop publishing, office and risograph printing

  • Track record of campaigning for the Labour Party
