Sabir-Hussain Mirza worked in the Churchill Hospital and was an active trade unionist for many years, before becoming self-employed. Sabir raised his family on the Cowley Road, where he still lives. As chairman of the central Oxford Mosque and a founder of the Anglo-Asian Association, he strongly supported building links between all communities.
