On Tuesday January 12, Junior Doctors in England and Wales will be taking industrial action for the first time in 40 years in response to their contract dispute with the Department of Health.

More than 100 Junior doctors from John Radcliffe Hospital are expected to partake in strike action. After protesting at the hospital, they will move to Broad Street in the city centre to speak to the public about the regrettable need for such action.

The Oxford & District Labour Party would like to provide members who wish to attend the details of protest taking place in Oxford – assuming no settlement is reached in the meantime.

8:00am – 12:30pm Meeting with Doctors and pickets outside the hospital.
1:00pm – 3:00pm Protest in Oxford City centre at the Museum of the History of Science, Broad Street.

Oxford Labour will be represented and our party banner will be present during the march. We would like to remind members that this protest is being organised by the BMA and not by the Labour Party. To find out more, please visit the BMA website
