Councillor for Cowley
John has lived in Oxford for 40 years. He has worked for public utilities and local authorities as an IT consultant and project manager. He was Labour spokesperson on transport until becoming Chairman of the Council in 2015-16.
His main concerns are lack of government investment in highways maintenance and infrastructure and the poor prioritisation by the County and the lack of support of these issues and of critical bus services and dedicated cycle routes. He is determined to introduce parking controls in congested streets. He is a Freeman of the City of Oxford and is concerned in promoting apprenticeships.
